LAOH Division 7 & AOH Division 17 Celebrate Our Nations Birthday
With Our Veterans
Filled with joy, celebration, the spirit of our County and the Fourth of July, Judy Osman of LAOH Division 7 proudly displays one of four handmade wreaths donated to the Veteran’s Administration Hospital of Pittsburgh located in Aspinwall, PA.
With utmost loving care and under the guidance and skills of Bonne Taylor, Division 7 President, the ladies gathered to make these wreaths. The wreaths were crafted with hands of joy and heart’s desires to cheer and brighten the 4th of July for those of our Pittsburgh Veterans at the hospital. All was not in vain, as the appreciation and joy as these wreaths were dropped off at the hospital was evident. Many a vet will gaze upon these wreaths and feel the presence and love of those who care.
Division 7, with God’s grace has been fortunate to enjoy working hand in hand with their Division #17 Brothers at the hospital for the last two years by helping the veteran’s with bingo cards at bingo and serving lunch afterwards, and, it has been said that company of the ladies is quite appreciated by the vets. It is this partnership, this spirit that, defines us:
“Instill in our hearts the spirit of holy Joy…the joy that sanctifies…the joy that gives…the joy of one who loves…the joy that imparts to others…”
Woman’s Prayer – Honoring – Sister Peggy Flaherty CDP, Penna. State Chaplain – LAOH
Both LAOH Division 7 and AOH Division 17 are looking forward to a continued partnership and to working with the VA Hospital in “Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity”, comforting, enhancing, embracing, and perhaps in some small way softening the lives of those men and women who sacrificed for us and our country.
