Congratulations to Caitlin Weldon on receiving a scholarship for Chemical Engineering from the Murrysville Women’s Club.

Our Division 7 sister, Court Maiden Caitlin Weldon is the daughter of Kevin and Catherine Weldon and is from Greensburg.  She is a junior at Penn State University, where she majors in Chemical Engineering and is a Deans List student. She was selected to participate in a research program that focuses on the global development in energy, a field she aspires to enter.

She graduated from Hempfield Area High School , where she was a member of the National Honor Society and received merit-based scholarships.

In high school, she was an active member of the St. Paul’s Youth Group, on the tennis team, a part of the musical cast and choir, and on the yearbook staff. She danced for Bell school of Irish dance for 11 years and is currently a member of the Penn State Irish Dance Troupe, Rince Na Leon.  She is helping to organize Penn State’s first Irish Cultural Day, scheduled for the week of St. Patrick’s Day.  She is a member of the Phi Sigma Rho Engineering Sorority, in which she served as Service Chairperson for her pledge class.  And she has volunteered to raise money for Penn State’s nationally recognized THON program to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and care.

We applaud you Caitlin!
